Left Foot Right

I believe in fate and the choices we make are all a part of a grand destiny. The people we meet, the tragedies we endure, and the emotions we feel.

If I can remember, I was about 17 when I first saw the film “The Truth About Emanuel” on a summer evening in a open living space with friends. Everyone was gathered around but no one was really paying any sort of attention -but I was. At first the movie seemed so beautifully cinematic with the color schemes and setting/costume styles but I then realized this film had a deeper meaning and the message was clear to me.

I was Emanuel and I was dealing with grief and denial on my own terms. This film clashed two realities into one and the point was so pivotal for where I was at in life. I had my own tragedies and I was feeling alone, even in a room filled with familiar faces. This film gave me a new perspective on what it appears to be like as a confused being. I learned that day that I shall move on and not let my faults define me or mandate my life. That was the day I began my journey to figuring out who I truly am.
